He comes with a wealth of experience in dealing with the type of GYN problems which he will be seeing, with particular interest in avoiding unnecessary surgery if possible, menopausal transition problems, abnormal Pap Smears, contraception, teen sexuality issues (which his work in the MPH program at UT-Houston, and the Dallas campus are presently keeping him occupied, & for which he is available for presentations), prevention of osteoporosis, & GYN pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions.

Tired of long waits for your patients to see a GYN? I promise to see you within a week, and most of the time with 48 hours. If I cannot accommodate this time schedule, I’ll still see you for free! Because of this policy, as well as for the safety of all concerned, we do ask that all children be left at home or with a sitter.

Second opinions-no problem! They are highly encouraged in our patients. If major surgery becomes the option that the you desire, our office will be happy to take care of it in-house by Dr. Phillips, or referral to the surgeon of your choice (with the same close follow-up of you in my office, which will relieve the surgeon of all that tedious post-operative care that they dislike, but with the same close communications to your surgeon). Minor or outpatient surgery is usually handled by myself at a local Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Insurance- again not a problem! The office, in order to keep your costs to a minimum, does not participate in some of the local insurance plans. By not having to bill the insurance company, the cost is either on a procedural basis, or time based ($150/hr.). You will receive an Encounter Form which contains all the information needed for you to attach to a claim form (for those insurance companies in which Dr. Phillips does not participate), and send in yourself for reinbursement to you (most POS-Point-of-Service- companies are paying close to 100% of these claims, since the fees charged by Dr. Phillips are usually less than half of the "usual and customary").

Dr. Phillips does accept the United Health Care Family of health insurance plans,Medicare and Medicaid, Amerigroup, and some Blue Cross/Blue Shield companies, and is the processing stages for Aetna and Humana. Please check the Insurance Company List in the patient information section to see if your company is on there (the list is changing almost daily as more of the patients ask Dr. Phillips to be in their particular program).
